N.i.T. Hungary - in the service of road transportation

The Federation of International Private Transporters N.i.T. Hungary is a professional employers' association promoting the interests of international road transporters in Hungary. Established in 1990, the association operates as a non - profit organisation. With a membership in excess of 4400 enterprises, N.i.T. Hungary is the largest road transportation trade association among the EU candidate countries.


Mission
N.i.T. Hungary aims to safeguard and represent the interests of private firms in the freight forwarding and passenger transport branches. To this end, N.i.T. Hungary provides a variety of services both independently and through partnerships at the national and international level.


Membership
N.i.T. Hungary was founded in 1990 by 53 road transportation companies. Over the years, membership has grown as the realisation by increasing numbers of enterprises of the necessity of effective interest representation was matched by efficient provision of adequate and high quality services. As at September 2003, the number of members amounted to 4402 companies.

The members of N.i.T. Hungary operate up to 30.000 vehicles and employ approximately 40.000 employees. The membership consists of mostly small and medium size enterprises, however it also includes some of the largest Hungarian service providers. It comprises 500 companies active in passenger transportation, 1800 firms in international freight transportation and 2200 firms in domestic freight transportation.
